Every Stacy Garcia Design has a different story. Something inspired us to choose a certain color combination, create a unique pattern, or pick up on a particular style. Stacy Garcia takes a unique approach to design — and her story is also unique.
A leader in hospitality design, Stacy came by her love for travel naturally. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, to parents who “spent a little too much time following the Grateful Dead on a motorcycle,” she is a descendant of German, Russian and Polish immigrants. As the oldest of three siblings and the mother of three boys, with a soon-to-be adopted Russian daughter on the way, she loves her family, and enjoys traveling and practicing Tae Kwon Do with her sons.
“At the end of the day, design is about wanting to feel connected,” Stacy notes. “It’s a form of communication — a language. If you are part of a tribe of people, you feel more connected. I’m inspired by the designers, manufacturers and individuals with whom I work; and I hope to empower others to have the confidence to make their own connections and creations — in design, and in life.”
Respected for her inventive use of color and remarkable pattern design skills, Stacy Garcia knows the hospitality and lifestyle design industries, inside and out. Her signature designs and in-depth knowledge of color and trends are informed by a long and rich history of working first-hand with engravers, mill colorists, loom technicians and major lifestyle and hospitality brands.
Stacy studied Textile Design at Central St. Martins in London, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Surface Pattern Design from New York’s prestigious Syracuse University. She began her professional career selecting color palettes, and assisting in design and showroom development for Ralph Lauren’s Home Collection. Following her work with the iconic brand, Stacy was hired as Senior Designer for Richloom Contract Fabrics, where she directed the textile and pattern design collections.
She went on to start her own consulting firm, and is now the founder and CEO of two successful companies — the Stacy Garcia® lifestyle brand, and LebaTex®, Inc., a fabric converting firm and certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). Stacy’s designs have been featured in Bloomingdale’s catalogs, as well as industry publications such as New Look, Interior Design Magazine and Hotel Design Magazine; and she has been recognized with a Presidential Citation Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Design Profession through the American Society for Interior Design (ASID). Stacy Garcia products can be seen in fine hotels, resorts, timeshares and residences across the world, including the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel and Resorts in Hawaii, the five-star Halekulani Hotel on the Waikiki beachfront, the Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Northglenn, Colorado, the Holiday Inn Nickelodeon Suites in Orlando, Florida, the Fairfield Resorts Skyline Tower in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Doubletree hotels in Tennessee, and Marriott hotels in Florida.
